A refusal to be manipulated by the illusion of time scarcity
Time’s NOT Running Out!
I’ve had it.
Every day my inbox is full of emails that yell at me, “Last chance for the 20% discount!” or “Time is running out~ Hurry!” I’m sick to death of it. Those ad companies should know that the minute I see that kind of language, I won’t even read the email. God almighty. We have enough stress in our lives without being told all the time, You’re gonna miss out on this amazing thing!
Go ahead. Move on without my registration fee. I give up. I missed it. (And now my body relaxes into this delicious, long “ahhhhh” as I stop running.)
Once, I heard someone say, “Time is not for rushing around so you can have more of it later. You don’t ever have any more of it than you have in your hand right now!”
Stop telling me I’m going to run out of time. I’m never going to run out of it. It doesn’t exist. It’s just a system we made up to be able to schedule stuff, or measure how long it took us to do something, or estimate how long it will take in the future. Time only works with past or future. It has nothing to do with now. So, in a way, right now — time doesn’t exist.
