The Antidepressant Grab Bag of Glee.
It’s a cumbersome phrase, but it does the job.
I’ve found it’s more fun to call it the AGBG. (Say it a couple times.)

In the current culture, we’re held hostage by big pharma and the AMA. Those of us who suffer from depression think our only options are the pills and protocols offered by the ‘mental health industry’.

But I think we have resources that are much closer at hand. We’ve been outsourcing like crazy when we could more easily draw from our own wisdom, our own self-awareness. I am not saying, throw away your pills and do this instead. I’m just saying open your mind to your psychic pantry of possibilities

Do a little investigative journalism. Interview yourself. Depression can feel like being in a rowboat with a hole in it, in the middle the Atlantic. It’s too big and there’s no hope. That’s what makes us so vulnerable to handing over all our power to Someone Else Who Has The Answer.

And sometimes they do. One of the reasons I’m still here to say anything at all about it is because of a series of brilliant professionals and, in some cases, life-saving medications.
