100 Days of Gladness: Day 21
NaPoWriMo: “Clawing My Way to Persistence with a Retroactive Haiku”
(This counts as the fourth poem in the four days of National Poetry Writing Month, because, I…)
…haven’t lain down yet
so it’s still April the 4th.
NaPoWriPo lives!
See? What I’m glad about today is that I broke a rule just to follow the rules. Irony and joy.
The rule is: Write a poem every day in April, in honor of National Poetry Writing Month. And even though this will technically show up on Medium as having been written on April 5, I get to thumb my nose at physics and say, “Nu-un(g).” (how do we spell that word? The one that negates the “yu hun(g).”)
Anyway, HA! Take that, physics and time and all things linear. I stretched the day out a little longer so I could still meet the deadline. Neener neener neener.
Believe me. Tomorrow will be a better day with a much better poem in it.
I promise.
